Tutti-Frutti Recipe


Tutti frutti  is a colorful confectionery containing various chopped and usually candied fruits, or an artificial or natural flavouring simulating the combined flavour of many different fruits. These are used in various bakery products, including cakes, milk-breads, cookies, dilkhush and buns. Tutti frutti is also used in cold desserts as topping for ice cream and sundaes. Usually they make with raw papayas.I have made with water melon rinds.

Before thrashing watermelon rinds,reconsider of doing it as its rich in fibre and also contains Vitamins B6,A and C.

How to make tutti-frutti with watermelon rinds?

Tutti-Frutti recipe:

Ingredients

1.Watermelon rind small cut cubes-1 cup
2.Sugar-1 cup
3.Water
4.Rosemilk essence-2 drops
5.Saffron essence-2 drops

Method

  1. Cut the watermelon rinds into small cubes.
  2. Cook the cubes in water,till it becomes transparent.
  3. Drain the boiled water with the help of strainer and keep the cooked rind aside.
  4. Take 1 cup sugar with equal amount of water for sugar syrup
  5. When sugar water starts boiling,add the rinds and cook till the sugar syrup reaches string consistency.
  6. Divide the sugared rind cubes in 2 bowls.
  7. Add desired colors of your choice.I have added rosemilk essence and saffron essence.
  8. Allow to soak for 12 hrs till the color gets absorbed.
  9. Take a kitchen paper towel and drain excess water
  10. Spread in a plate and dry for 24 hrs.
  11. Now the tutti frutti is ready to eat or it can be refridgerated for later use.

1.Take watermelon rinds.

6.Add the cooked cubes to sugar syrup.
For sugar syrup,Take 1 cup of sugar to 1 cup of water and dissolve.
Cook the cubes till it gets string consistency.

7.Divide in two cups
8.Add colors of your choice.I have added rosemilk essence and saffron strand essence.
Allow to soak for 12 hrs till color gets absorbed.
9.Drain the excess water using kitchen paper towels
10.Spread the cubes in plates and dry for 24 hrs till its completely dry not sticky.


11.Now the tutti frutti is ready to consume or it can be refridgerated for later use.
